HFIF Thought Leader Roundtable in Nairobi, Kenya
The Health Finance and Investment Forum (HFIF) is based on the conviction that an increased collaboration between the finance and healthcare communities and creating public private dialogue will empower the healthcare sector. HFIF is a facilitator of an integrated multi-stakeholder approach to advance the healthcare industry, empower self-sustainable finance, and enable economic growth and development. The HFIF Thought Leader Roundtable represents the inauguration of the East Africa Edition of the HFIF. East Africa’s diverse economies, growing populations and dynamic social landscape make it a promising hub for investment. Recent reforms to improve healthcare services have driven recognition of the potential for public private collaboration. As a result, Kenya could play a critical role as a driver for advancing private investment and the growth of the private health sector in East Africa. Therefore, Nairobi was considered the ideal location for the HFIF Roundtable. Roundtable participants agreed that Kenya has a great opportunity to attract private capital, and that private sector investment is crucial for the realisation of Universal Health Coverage.
